WYNDHAM HOTEL
The Wyndham Hotel was a proposed remodeling of an existing hotel property at LAX Airport. The scheme envisioned adding an elliptical second level lounge area that would also act as a porte-cochere at the entry. The sloping glass walls of this new element added a futuristic image to the building and created a more exciting sense of arrival for guests. In addition, the lines of a rooftop restaurant were extended as a gently curving arc toward the main street and integrated with a new billboard. This not only provided a more interesting façade, but would also generate income for the property. Lastly, coloration of the various architectural elements was explored to strengthen the hotels presence along Sepulveda Boulevard.
