PALISADES BEACH ROAD RESIDENCE
This 3-story 6,000 square foot residence occupies a 50’ x 100’ site just north of the Santa Monica Pier. It is bordered on the east by Pacific Coast Highway and on the west by the bike path/promenade running along the beach.
The main living level is completely open like an artist’s loft and provides areas for living, kitchen and dining as well as outdoor deck space. The bedrooms are on the third level where the Master has expansive views of the ocean and Santa Monica Pier. The roof level serves as an open garden terrace with views in all directions. All levels are linked by interior and exterior stairs as well as an elevator in the southeast corner of the building.
The facade facing PCH is clad with panels of titanium, which not only give the building a distinctively modern character, but also offer a highly sustainable non-corrosive solution to being in a challenging marine environment.

CONTEXT
The main living area is raised a half level above the promenade to create a more private interior environment with nicer views over the bikers and strollers as they pass by.
