FRANKLIN CANYON RESIDENCE

This project was an update to a traditional 1970’s era house in Franklin Canyon. It included a remodeling and second story addition. The upper level art studio placed above the garage has its own entry and stair to allow access for visitors without making them have to go through the main house. This independent entry/stair also facilitates the moving of large art works into and out of the studio. The addition demonstrates how a contemporary architectural element can be added to an older traditional home in a way that allows both approaches to design to happily coexist.
